Ya i set my music folder in rythmbox to my music folder on my old windows partition which worked fine if i had it mounted. Then i started listening to the music and it started skipping to the next song for no reason so i clicked stopped closed rythmbox and opened it again. When i re-opened it all my music was no longer in the library i thought it was just a glitch but when i checked the actual folder it was emtpy also.

Now when I did this it did not look like it was adding anything to the library so I clicked import folder and imported the music folder from the external usb drive. This imported all my files however they did not show up in library under music, showed all my files under devices which is not what I wanted as it was having to rescan the library every time I started the program. Then I clicked the sync to library button which deleted all my files without so much as asking me. Ubuntu 12.04 beta 1 and rhythmbox 2.95.
