I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 and I'm running it with the default Unity
GUI. I have two monitors and the problem I'm experiencing is that the
global menu bar does only appear correctly on my right/second monitor.
On that monitor, the global menu bar appears when I hover with the mouse
cursor on the bar anywhere to the left of the tray icons, just as
expected.

However, on my left/first monitor, the global menu bar does appear
almost as on the right monitor. But not when I hover over the area where
the menu items are supposed to appear. If I move the mouse a bit to the
left or the right of that area, it does appear.

Here are two screenshots that maybe are easier to understand:

My graphics card is an AMD 6870. I'm using the proprietary AMD graphics
drivers from Ubuntu's "Additional Drivers" window/service. However, this
problem was also present with the open source default drivers.
