Title:
software center does not update package list
Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
Opinion
Bug description:
Please add a reload button to update the software cache each time I add a new
repository. Well. newer users of Ubuntu may not add a PPA due to security
concerns or because they won't know how to, but the older ones would take a
backup and risk experimenting with their OS. I don't know why the software
center does not reload even though I saw a bug that this was fixed in version
1.1 itself. I use Ubuntu Precise.
Why not add a button saying 'reload' or a menu option, 'Update software
list'? It would be very helpful if the aim is to make a fully functinal GUI.
Why would I go back to the command line after choosing to use the GUI software
center?
