Public bug reported:
Background:
I have 3 monitors (in a left/middle/right configuration) and an NVIDIA
Quadro NVS 450. This means I have to use Xinerama, which means Unity
falls back to Unity 2D. Most programs work fine.
Problem:
LibreOffice apps (like Calc and Writer) appear to have several bugs in
their menu implementation:
1. The menus are per-window, instead of being at the top of the screen
in the panel like other apps. This is fine with me, and *not* the topic
of this bug report. Presumably if global menus become a configurable
option, the mode in which libreoffice menus are currently operating will
be expected to work correctly. I mention it only for completeness.
2. When a window is on the middle or right monitor, the menus open in
the wrong position. For windows on the middle monitor, the menus open on
the right monitor. For menus on the right monitor, the menus open on the
correct monitor but align to the right of the menu item text. See the
attached screenshots for clarification.
LibreOffice apps are the only ones I've seen that exhibit this behavior.
Note that this bug is similar to bug 974900, but is not the same. In
that case, the menus are incorrectly right aligned (like in my right
monitor case), but they span monitors. In my case, the menu will shift
right a bit to avoid spilling onto the middle monitor.
Let me know if there is additional detail I can provide.
