You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Ubuntu version: 11.10 and 12.04

Steps to reproduce bug:
1) Open network settings dialog
2) Choose an arbitrary network connection (Wired/Wireless/Mobile broadband)
3) Click on Configure (11.10)/Options (12.04)
-> Editing [connection name] dialog opens
4) Close Editing [connection name] dialog
5) Click on Configure (11.10)/Options (12.04)
-> Editing [connection name] dialog opens
6) DO NOT close Editing [connection name] dialog
6) Click on Configure (11.10)/Options (12.04)
    -> Network connections dialog opens

Expected behaviour:
It is mandatory to manage multiple network connection of the same type. This is
obvious for wireless network, but it is also mandatory for wired networks.
Therefor, the list in the Network settings dialog should contain multiple
connections of the same type (adding a new connection by clicking "+") and the
Configure/Options button should open the settings dialog for this single
connection OR the Network settings dialog should be as it is and the
Configure/Options button should open the general Network connections dialog for
all connections.

** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
