Hello Redmar, or anyone else affected,
Accepted software-center into precise-proposed. The package will build
now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here.
See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!

Bug description:
Binary package hint: software-center
TEST CASE:
1. run software-center search:gshutdown
2. verify that the description is cut in the middle
3. install the version from -proposed
4. repeat (1) and verify that the description is now cut at the end
Very long descriptions of packages get cut in the middle, giving a
very weird effect. Like the package Gshutdown when software center is
not maximised:
And advanced shutdown utility which allows you to...le the shutdown or
the restart of your computer.
I would be better if this was to be split over several lines or capped
at the end instead of the middle.
