Title:
user-dirs.dir points to $HOME/ instead of $HOME/Desktop
Status in “xdg-user-dirs” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
On a fresh install of Precise on my laptop, I discovered that all the
contents of $HOME were appearing on my desktop. This is rather
annoying as I abhor things on my desktop... I hate folders and files
cluttering the desktop up and previously this did not happen.
On investigation, I discovered that in ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs the
XDG_DESKTOP_DIR item was pointing to "$HOME/" rather than
"$HOME/Desktop" as it did in previous versions of Ubuntu.
This is rather annoying with only the 15 or 20 folders I have
currently in my new home directory... prior to my re-install, my home
directory had over 100 folders in it, and that would have cluttered my
desktop to the point of insanity :(
