Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect 373965 and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

Title:
Network Manager will not set up static IP
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
When I try to set up a static IP in NM under 9.04, I find that it will
not accept 10.1.1.1 as the Gateway (under Manual) and will default to
0.0.0.0 (this happens on all 3 of my Dell machines). Also when I click
to add the information under Manual, and if I use the tab function to
enter, say the mask, it will give me a box to type into...down
lower....but when I type into this box, the information is lost.
