Title:
  unity: issues with usb keyboard

Status in Unity:
  Expired
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Hi there,

  I get issues with my usb keyboard when using unity (3d).

  System in use:
  * Laptop with "hard-installed" keyboard
  * Ubuntu oneiric 11.10
  * external usb-mouse and usb-keyboard (keyboard lsusb: ID 04d9:1603 Holtek
Semiconductor, Inc. )

  Behaviour in unity 2d and gnome 3 (with animations): No complains.

  Behaviour in unity 3d:
  No problems with "hard-installed" keyboard.
  Input via the usb-connected keyboard has issues:
  * sometimes, pressed keys need up to seconds to appear as letters on the
screen (google chrome, gnome-terminal, libreoffice etc.)
  * sometimes, letters are "forgotten"/left out
  * sometimes, letters are repeated endlessly, until another key is pressed.

  It might be interesting that when using graphics mode 640x480, the
  problem appears less frequently, but does not completely vanish.

  Perhaps it's noteworthy that on boot, chances are high (approx. 80%)
  that grub won't won't understand the usb-keyboard and WinXP only does
  if an additional driver is installed.
