This is actually fixed, shouldn't it have been closed by now?

Title:
  sftp link support is missing

Status in “gnome-terminal” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

Support for the SFTP protocol is missing on the Gnome Terminal.

HTTP, FTP and other protocols work just fine.

SFTP support is the reason I find myself using Konsole on a Gnome
  environment everyday at work.
