Google Chrome does not appear in the software centre

Bug description:
I have Google Chrome Beta installed, as confirmed with dpkg:
ii google-chrome-beta
20.0.1132.21-r139451 The web browser from Google
However searching for "google chrome", "chrome" or "google" in the
software centre does not show the package and as a result, I am unable
to use the GUI to remove it from the system. (See my related bug
#1008144).
