Title:
  gedit 3.4.1 does not handle large files or show coloured html tags

  New

Bug description:
  Precise 12.04
  Classic desktop
  Installed by Ubuntu Alternate AMD64 cd
  amd 4 core cpu
  8GB memory

  1. Loading a 969.4 kB file takes 45 seconds and only loads about 10%. The 
file is not corrupt - it loads correctly in 2.30.3 (10.04).
  2. The last line in gedit is overwritten.
  2. It uses 80% cpu while loading.
  3. It does not show coloured html codes (it does in correctly loaded small 
files)
