You have been subscribed to a public bug: The official documentation says:
"https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SwitchingLanguages SwitchingLanguages ................. To change the language of your next session, you will need to change it from the login screen. Before logging in, click on Options (found in the bottom left corner of the login screen) > Select Language and choose the language for your next session. The system will ask you if you would like to change the language of the login screen as well, and whether the change is only for one session or permanent. After this, you may log into your account." This is I think the correct way to do it: Once you have installed languages, with the Language window open (search for Language from the program selection launcher or on top right 'System then languages, drag your preferred language to the top and then click "Apply system wide." Then logout and log back in and you should be in your new language. In fact when I just did it the login screen was in Spanish. ** Affects: language-selector (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bot-comment -- switching languages help is incorrect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1008844 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to language-selector in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
