I have verified that this bug still no longer occurs in Software Center
version 5.2.2.2, Ubuntu 12.04. The state of the expanded tabs is not
retained even on a refresh of the view (such as at the end of an
install/remove, as described in this bug). Therefore, I will close this
now.
Many thanks!

Title:
Expanded categories being viewed in 'Installed' tab collapse when
installation/removal of a queued package completes
Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
I am using version 5.0.1.4 of software-center on Ubuntu 11.10
(64-bit).
If you have queued up some programs to be either installed or removed
and then browse some of the packages currently installed, under the
'Installed' tab, every time one of the queued packages is
installed/removed then page refreshes leaving all previously expanded
categories collapsed. This makes browsing and removing multiple
packages difficult when using the 'Installed' tab.
