Seems to be a bug in gnome-menus, see the linked upstream bug. I'm
testing a fix now.

Bug description:
Hi, to everyone.
I was using xubuntu 12.10 daily, 32 bits, that i take in 09-06-2012 sat. and
when i try to change de menu by editing , all the times , they crash. not the
menu, but the editor.
What i do was, right click on menu, properties than i click on EDIT MENU.
All the time shows a crash report asking if i want to send to here.
