Ubuntu Precise, also affects 11.04 Natty and 11.10 Oneiric
Using Unity 5.0.0, also affects previous versions.
There is only one application I use that appears to implement a menu
system that is replaced by Global Menu, which then stops the menus
from functioning. This is the TeamSpeak3 application, in the Bookmarks
menu. Under XFCE, which does not implement such a Global Menu, the
menus work correctly, and in the Bookmarks menu, one can right click
on a Bookmark to bring up a submenu which allows the user to "Connect
in New Tab". When one right clicks on a Bookmark in Unity, it
disconnects you from wherever you are connected to, and reconnects you
somewhere else, as right clicking has the same effect as left
clicking.
Teamspeak uses Qt, Speex Library, CELT Library and the Boost Library.
This is, as I say, the only application I have discovered uses a
right-click menu to access other functions, but it does seem to be
something that the Unity Global Menu does not currently support, or is
supposed to support, but doesn't.
