You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Whenever I try to start the Softwarecenter or it is started by some
other application it crashes.

reproduce:

1) create an additional administrative user on your machine
2) relog to this user after you have set a password for it
3) start the software center

expected result:
the normal software center splash screen

actual result:
several apport crash reports popping up and when apport is collecting data it 
says "invalid problem report" and "the source package cannot be determined" 
(freely translated from the screenshot i provided)
