Same problem using LibreOffice v3.5.3.2 with Ubuntu 12.04. I just
freshly installed my system. And if I print it or export the document to
PDF, the gray color is preserved.

Bug description:
the automatic font color in previous version were black. in ver.
3.4.3, it is gray.
this is extremely disruptive if old documents are editing, as there
will be a mixture of black and grey characters. this result in a
highly unprofessional document.
