Good thing I read changelogs. Turns out this was a duplicate of (lp:

Title:
.odb files associated with file-roller instead of LO Base
Status in “desktop-file-utils” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
When clicking to open .odb files, say in the Dash or from Nautilus,
they are opened in file-roller, which then complains it doesn't know
how to open them anyway. They should of course open in Base. This
forces me to open Base first, and then choose the open file option,
which works, but isrequires many more clicks than should be needed.
This happens even in the latest version 3.5.3 from Precise Proposed, and it
happened with 3.5.2 and the earlier versions from Oneiric as well, both 3.5.x
from the PPA and 3.4.x stable.
