Hi Daniel, and thanks for your report. It seems to me that the icon
resolutions are fine in Precise. Please let us know if this is not the
case.

Many icons in the gtk-3 software-center have a low resolution.
For many popular software there are high res icons available.
For example VLC, Inkscape, Blender, Chromium, etc.
