Since Karmic I cannot use my ISP DNS server on my D-Link DSL-G624T router. I also have a Seimens router with a different ISP and that works OK. The D-link works fine with Intrepid, Hardy, WinXP and Win7. But not with Karmic and now Lucid. The WiFi link to the router is fine but I can't connect to anything on the Internet unless I change the DNS server to GoogleDNS or OpenDNS via System>Preferences>Network Connections>WiFi>IPv4. This fix is effective but should not be necessary. This problem first arose after I installed Karmic, quite a few people reported this same problem. I discussed this in detail here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1401061 resolv.conf # Generated by NetworkManager nameserver 192.168.1.1 Which is the address of the D-Link admin. I have a wireshark trace of what happens when Wireless connects and then ping www.google.com fails, hope this helps.
