Network manager does not work after two reboots

Bug description:
Binary package hint: network-manager
At some point network-manager could not detect my Intel WiFi Link 5300
and my mobile broadband card is Dell 5530 (I believe this is Ericsson
MBM F3705g). Network manager says that my wireless card is disabled
and my mobile broadband card is disconnected. I have a hardware switch
that controls the wireless card, the bluetooth and the mobile
broadband card and is on the on position (bluetooth works fine).
A temporary solution to my problem consists on running the following commands:
sudo apt-get remove network-manager
sudo apt-get install network-manager
Afterwards, I reboot and everything works perfectly.
When I reboot one more time, network manager reports again that my
wireless card is disabled and the mobile broadband card is
disconnected.
I am running Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit.
I have installed the 0.8~a~git.20091013t193206.679d548-0ubuntu1 version of
network-manager.
The attached logs are taken when network-manager does not recognize my
wireless and mobile broadband cards.
