Hi Alice, it seems that LyX is a very large package download (about
289.0 MB), so I wonder if you may have encountered network issues when
installing it? I have been able to install it without issue in Ubuntu
12.04 with Software Center version 5.3.2.
Please let us know if you are still having this difficulty.
