Intel Corporation WIFI Link 5100 on a 64bit Sony VAIO Wireless works flawlessly with LiveCD. Post install, however, wireless doesn't work. During install, I checked off the option to install the wireless network. Symptoms (after installed reboot): 1.) No wireless networks are shown as being available. 2.) The wireless network which had been installed does not work. 3.) If one disables wireless networking, it cannot be re-enabled without restarting. Removed installation and installed Xubuntu 11.10. Wireless works flawlessly after installation. The problems 'seems' to be Unity/Gnome related?
