Title:
upon resume, nm will renew the wireless connection to an ad-hoc
network, not the last used wireless network
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Using my ubuntu laptop as usual, connected to my home wifi (SSID
"vegan jihad" [1]). I then put it into suspend.
Upon returning out of suspent, the network manager applet wont renew
the connection to said SSID, but will instead connect me to an ad-hoc
network I've used once a while back for some mobile phone debugging
(SSID "chobits"). It will do this always.
The ad-hoc network has no internet connectivity, forcing me to
reconnect to my normal, preferred network every time I return the
laptop from suspend. It's quite annoying.
All the required details (containing quite a bit of private
information, might I add) were attached by the ubuntu-bug tool. The
whole network negotiation phase is in there.
[1] My roommate is a vegan and used to be a political activist; since
then he's digressed into an Apple user.
