Bug description:
Binary package hint: network-manager
On a fresh install of 10.04 through windows installer. Dual boot windows
Xp(Dell Latitude E5500)
Wi-Fi work as intended after installation. When I manually restart the
computer after the first update, the Wi-Fi is disabled and I am not able to
enable the WiFi. The wired connection work as intended. Sudo apt-get update
does not help. This happend twice first i reinstalled 10.04.
After some investigation I found the following:
1. Default user settings after fresh install, has not included using wifi and
Ethernet in the advanced settings.
2. Enabeling this did not help by itself.
3. To get the WiFi working I have to (each time I start) turn off the wifi
hardware switch before start.
4. Boot up Ubuntu and turn on the WiFi hardware switch.
5. Then the Wifi is enabled.
