Title:
xorg.conf is not modified correctly for nvidia SLI
Status in “jockey” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
I am using Kubuntu 9.10 and have nVidia GeForce 7950 Go SLI graphics
controllers.
When I use Hardware Drivers (jockey-kde) to install the latest
proprietory nvidia driver, the xorg.conf file is not modified
correctly. This prevents X from starting, and requires manual
modification of the xorg.conf file.
X should be told which of the two graphics controllers to use for the
display (e.g. BusID "PCI:4:0:0") and that the SLI option should be
enabled (Option "SLI" "on").
I am sorry if I have not listed this against the correct package - I
am not sure what changes the xorg.conf file in this instance?
Here is my xorg.conf file (I have only added the two options mentioned
to what was generated by default):
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Default Screen"
DefaultDepth 24
Option "SLI" "on"
EndSection
Section "Module"
Load "glx"
EndSection
Section "Device"
Identifier "Default Device"
Driver "nvidia"
Option "NoLogo" "True"
BusID "PCI:4:0:0"
EndSection
