Title:
networkmanager doesn't automatically start after reboot

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I just upgraded to the latest recommended software for 12.04. After
rebooting, I found that networkmanager was not running, hence I had no
  network connectivity.

Manually starting networkmanager worked around the problem, but it's a
pretty serious bug that you upgrade to the latest 12.04 software and
your networking stops working after reboot.

Others seem to be running into this issue as well:

  manual-networkmanager-start

These two posters were both using laptops, as am I. Possibly wireless
  is a common denominator?
