Launcher and menu bar are distorted even after screen blank (timeout)

Bug description:
In Ubuntu 11.10 and before, I often had distorted Unity launcher and
title/menu bar after a suspend/resume cycle - but now, with Ubuntu
12.04 LTS, this happens even when the screen blanks because of timeout
and I wake it up again.
My screen saver is set to just switch of the screens after 10 minutes.
When I move the mouse or touch a key, they switch on again - but both
Unity launcher AND title/menu bar show distortion in the form of
blocks. Hard to describe and I am NOT able to take a screenshot of
this as while trying to do so, apparently they get a refresh.
Another way to get a refresh is to move the mouse into the launcher or
click the title bar, sometimes I also have to click e.g. the calendar
indicator to make it refresh.
There seems to be one automatic refresh missing after screens go on
again!
