Title:
Desktop Crashes Randomly while logged in [SEGFAULT]

Status in Unity:
  Expired
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
This has happened many times over the last few days. While I'm logged
in and working, the displays just crash and go back to the login
screen. I did check if the package in question had been updated, and I
found that my system was up-to-date.

Upon checking the syslog at '/var/log/syslog', I invariably find that
a segfault occurs in 'libgdk-3.so.0.200.0'. Upon analysis of various
other bug reports involving 'libgdk-3', I believe that there is a
coding bug that is causing the segfault. I am certain that it is not
low memory because I have 32 GiB of memory installed, along another 32
  GiB of swap.
