network manager applet need to be configered at each logon.

At my first boot (after the installation) the Ethernet detected automatically.
but then onwards the icon in the panel indicates , there is no network.
now i need to configure each time I login to ubuntu via 'terminal'.
I'm using Ubuntu 9.04
