After the upgrade, NM successfully connects to the wireless network, but it loses it after less than a minute. It retries to connect short after, and may succeed again, to lose it once again less than a minute later. To understand if this was a NM problem I did the following: 1) disabled wireless from NM, added this entry to /etc/network/interfaces: iface wlan0 inet dhcp wpa-ssid WiFiBronto wpa-psk PutYourKeyOnLaunchpad! ifup wlan0 successfully configures the interface, and the connection is stable. 2) used wicd instead of NM: the connection is stable 3) removed the connection from NM and re-created it from scratch: the connection is UNSTABLE 4) reset the AP to factory settings and reconfigured: the connection is UNSTABLE 5) installed the latest kernel from jaunty, booted it: the connection is stable (but, unfortunately, I have no audio...) Messages in the logs in case of unstable connection are similar to the ones I am attaching from /var/log/syslog My Ubuntu installation is a pretty standard one, that started as a 8.04 and was upgraded up to 9.10. The only non-standard configuration is that I eventually had to disable pulseaudio due to crappy audio and high CPU consumption (I think it was at 8.10). bronto@lotus:~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10 My PC is an HP Compaq 8710w laptop.
