Title:
Mobile broadband and VPN connections should show as checkbox

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
The Network Manager applet shows mobile broadband connections with a
radio button. When they are connected, an additional line is added
that reads "Disconnect". This non-standard UI is unnecessary and
confusing. The connections should show with a checkbox instead. This
  would fit existing UI conventions.

The same thing applies to VPNs. There is no reason to have a separate
submenu. They could simply show as checkboxes, with "Configure VPN..."
appearing at the bottom of the menu as a more general "Edit
Connections". (Or, the right-click menu's copy of that could be the
  only one.)
