thomas i did it just before filling the bug... for some reason, apport didnt 
upload all the logs i was hopping for....
let me re-upgrade packages and collect them...

  unlike network-manager_0.9.4.0-0ubuntu4.1_amd64 version, current version cant 
keep the VPN up for more than a few seconds (around 30).
  Downgrading NM works fine again.
