Title:
nm-applet creates new wlan in wep even if wpa was selected
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: network-manager
I'm trying to create a WPA ad-hoc network on my laptop (ubuntu 10.04)
so that other device can access it.
I click on NetworkManager applet, select "Create New Wireless
Network", fill in a new network name (e.g. "test-net"), choose WPA &
WPA2 as security then input a passphrare in the password field.
The NetworkManager applet starts working and the network is created,
but when other devices try to access it, it shows as a WEP network.
If it is a driver/hardware problem (e.g. not being possible to create a WPA
ad-hoc network), the Network Manager applet should warn the user.
I'm thinking this could be the case because of these two lines:
Sep 29 16:11:33 fderose NetworkManager:
nm_setting_802_1x_get_pkcs11_engine_path: assertion `NM_IS_SETTING_802_1X
(setting)' failed

(setting)' failed
