Title:
Franklin CMU-300 3G/4G USB Adapter not working

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: network-manager

  1) lsb_release -rd
  Description: Ubuntu 10.10
  Release: 10.10

  2) apt-cache policy network-manager
  network-manager:
    Installed: 0.8.1+git.20100810t184654.ab580f4-0ubuntu2.1
    Candidate: 0.8.1+git.20100810t184654.ab580f4-0ubuntu2.1
    Version table:
   *** 0.8.1+git.20100810t184654.ab580f4-0ubuntu2.1 0
          500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-proposed/main i386
Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
       0.8.1+git.20100810t184654.ab580f4-0ubuntu2 0

  3) What is expected to happen is when one plugs the USB adapter in:

+ Secondary click Network Manager icon
  + click Edit Connections...
  + Mobile Broadband tab
  + Add
  + Forward button
  + Highlight United States
  + Forward button
+ I can't find my provider in the list and I wish to enter it manually: radio
button
  + Provider: Time Warner Cable
+ My provider uses CDMA technology (1xRTT,EVDO) drop down
  + Forward button
  + Apply button

It would either begin to connect automatically to the 3G or 4G
  network, or:

+ click the Network Manager icon
+ Time Warner Cable then it would connect.

  4) What happens instead is neither occurs. Information about this device may
