Same problem here. I will try to follow the steps proposed to the first
user.

"-Please provide steps you take to reproduce this issue on your machine"

Open empathy, add an AIM account, username, password. Then empathy
endlessely tries to connect to AIM with no success. Tried to
disable/enable TLS/SSL, no help.

  I can't even connect with aim in Empathy I have tried varied options
