Title:
Install button in Software Centre does not work, can't install
packages through GUI
Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Clicking on the Install button in the Software Centre does nothing (no
error messages, no password prompts to start the install). Apt-get
install works.
Here's some basic info:
