Sorry, I don't understand. After 'pon'; the connection should already be
established. There is no simple way for NM to figure out what interfaces
might need to be "internalized" and managed.

Please consider using the features available in GNOME to bring up
bluetooth dial-up networking and make it available to NetworkManager.
Considering that Bluetooth DUN support was added to NetworkManager in
version 0.8.1; please also consider upgrading to a new release of Ubuntu
to get this support. Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Title:
Please enhance NetworkManager so that externally configured
  connections are visible

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: network-manager

  Source package: /usr/lib/network-manager
  Package version: 0.8-0ubuntu3
  Ubuntu release: 10.04 LTS

  Hi,

I successfully installed a bluetooth GSM modem (Nokia) and added
"rfcomm bind yes" to /etc/rc.local in order to bind the device at
startup. I am able to connect from the command line with "sudo pon
BluetoothDialup" but would like to connect by using the network icon
on top of my screen. Unfortuntely, I first need to enter "sudo pon
BluetoothDialup" in the terminal screen in order to make the phone
known to NetworkManager, after which I can create and select dial-up
  connections.

Would it be possible to have NetworkManager changed in a way that the
configured connections are visible by default (i.e. when bluetooth is
  activated on the computer)?

  Best regards,

  Sander
