Title:
  GSM dialup: Timeout waiting for AT+CPIN?

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: network-manager

  When attempting to connect using my Samsung SGH-A501, the dial process halts
with the attempt to check the pin status. Relevant log from modem-manager:**
Message: (ttyACM0) opening serial device...
  ** Message: Modem /org/freedesktop/ModemManager/Modems/0: state changed
(disable
  d -> enabling)
  ** (modem-manager:6774): DEBUG: (ttyACM0): --> 'ATZ E0 V1 +CMEE=1<CR>'

  ** Message: Modem /org/freedesktop/ModemManager/Modems/0: state changed
(enabling -> enabled)
  ** (modem-manager:6774): DEBUG: (ttyACM0): --> 'AT+CPIN?<CR>'
  <Note: Connection attempt dies here after a ~5 second wait. The next line
comes after a ~10 second wait>
  ** (modem-manager:6774): DEBUG: (ttyACM0): <-- '<CR><LF>+CPIN:
READY<CR><LF><CR><LF>OK<CR><LF>'

  To fix it, either the timeout for this command needs to be extended to
  at least 10 seconds, or, preferably for me, the comman dropped
  altogether, as it is not required for my setup.

  This bug may just be a documentation bug, because all this should be
  in a chatscript somewhere, but I cannot find it's location documented
  anywhere.
