Because of the mass of new users needing support on IRC.

You ask them to pastebin something and then you have to post a link or
explain how to install pastebinit

Interestingly, just happened 5 minutes ago

It is frustrating to new users and users providing support.

Fedora does it (fpaste is installed by default).

It just makes good sense if you are providing irc support in a busy
channel (#ubuntu). Saves a ton of time and frustration.
