Because of the mass of new users needing support on IRC. You ask them to pastebin something and then you have to post a link or explain how to install pastebinit
Interestingly, just happened 5 minutes ago eduardo: pastebinit is not install thats what it says It is frustrating to new users and users providing support. Fedora does it (fpaste is installed by default). It just makes good sense if you are providing irc support in a busy channel (#ubuntu). Saves a ton of time and frustration. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993378 Title: pastebinit sould be a dependency Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in “irssi” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in “pidgin” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in “xchat” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in “xchat-gnome” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: This is a feature request, to make pastebinit a dependency of all or most irc clients.
