I managed to work around this by doing the following: Go to the URL in your jockey.log file:
e.g. http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/op/stable/debian/dists/lsb3.2 /epson-inkjet-printer-escpr/ Find the appropriate binary (i386 or amd64): e.g. http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/op/stable/debian/dists/lsb3.2 /epson-inkjet-printer-escpr/binary-amd64/epson-inkjet-printer- escpr_1.2.0-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb. Go to the terminal and download to an appropriate location and install manually (as follows): cd ~/Downloads wget -c http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/op/stable/debian/dists/lsb3.2/epson-inkjet-printer-escpr/binary-amd64/epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.2.0-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb sudo dpkg -i epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.2.0-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb This will flag up some unmet dependencies, namely the lsb package. Simply do the following: sudo apt-get -f install sudo dpkg -i epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.2.0-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb This should get the printer working whilst this problem is sorted for automatic installation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to jockey in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1009276 Title: auto driver downloader fails on epson px-5600 (precise pangolin) Status in “epson-inkjet-printer-escpr” package in Ubuntu: New Status in “jockey” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: two sperate machines one 23 bit one 64. here is the log, says the origin us untrusted at the end, (sounds like an easy fix?) 2012-06-06 09:45:11,662 ERROR: Binary package epson-inkjet-printer- escpr has no trusted origin, rejecting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/epson-inkjet-printer-escpr/+bug/1009276/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
