This isn't a bug -- NM tries to indicate to the user that things happen
when they happen -- that's fine. Then notify-osd applies some rules on
the frequency and speed at which messages should be shown. That's also
fine.
Now that there is a bug in DNS in your case is very possible -- please
file a bug report for that, using 'ubuntu-bug network-manager' and make
sure to clearly indicate exactly what is wrong with the DNS settings on
your system, and what files you changed to try and fix the issues.
Since this particular request is not a bug but expected (though
confusing) behavior, I'm closing this bug report as Invalid. The step
above will open a new report which will include debugging information
that will be helpful to developers in investigating and fixing the issue
you are facing.

Restarting NetworkManager cause messages to accumulate

Bug description:
Using
sudo restart network-manager
in order to load new DNS settings will cause accumulating number of
"Connecteion Established" messages. Each time I do that one extra
message will appear i.e. after 10 times you will 10 similar message
boxes to close one after other.
