Title:
Unity top bar buttons don't respect metacity setting

Status in Unity:

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Since I find no use for minimize/maximize buttons I hid it with the following
command:
"gconftool-2 --set /apps/metacity/general/button_layout --type string close:"

This works for the unmaximized windows which have window controls in
their title bar, however, when the window is maximized the top bar
  still shows all three buttons.
