proposed updates (I have updated before that.) and restarted and now the
bug seems to be gone.

Title:
launcher and alt tab not always showing program icon
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Programs sometimes start with no icon on the launcher or in alt tab.
This applies to all applications and seems totally random. This
effects programs regardless of how they are launched except for
programs that are already pinned.
