As a work around till the problem gets solved:  On the right of the box
with an "I" (shows a square that is easy to fill) there is a blank
space.  This actually hides a link (marks new additions with a separate
color so you can keep track of them) that allows for the tracking
screen.  If you click on it you get a screen that allows you to add a
tracking where you use a different color.  Now when you put a number in
the black box it is visible and no longer black on black..
