er... it seems launchpad has a bug! bug 1037981 is registered as a
calibre bug report, not a unity one (they have the same bug number!)
I'll just invalid this and me, too the other bug.

Ever since the upgrade to 5.14.0-0ubuntu1 I have had graphical
glitches pertaining to the Unity launcher (the portion that displays
the program name). Moving up and down the launcher will trigger the
bug fairly frequently.
