It's hard to say, if the bug is present, since I have no access to a VPN server that gives out it's own DNS records anymore. Maybe someone with an access can test?
But since Ubuntu has moved to internal DNS resolver, I suppose this should be fixed now. The icon when connecting to VPN (and after the connection is estabilshed) is super-ulgy though if you're using mobile broadband or ethernet: it looks like ethernet conection icon with faint wifi icon over it and a lock in a corner. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/652762 Title: NetworkManager fails to list VPN nameserver addresses before addresses on mobile broadband Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Binary package hint: network-manager Related package: network-manager-vpnc If I connect to a mobile broadband connection and then connect to a Cisco VPN, the nameservers added by VPN connection are placed after the global nameservers of the broadband provider. Expected behaviour would be to place the private nameservers acquired on VPN before the public ones of mobile broadband provider. VPN works correctly when connected to WiFi or wired connection.
