Launcher sometimes stops hiding

Bug description:
I have the launcher set to auto-hide. However, it occasionally stops
auto-hiding. So all the windows stay underneath the launcher, but the
launcher doesn't hide even when I move my mouse away. I've tried
turning auto hide on and off again. While that does change the
behavior when it turn auto-hide off (maximized windows don't stretch
underneath the launcher), after turning it on again, I have the same
problem.
Restarting my computer has always fixed the problem every time I've
experienced this issue. This seems to have happened only in the last
two weeks or so, and I performed a fresh install of Precise a few
weeks after it was released.
