Addendum: When I login in terminal mode with ctrl/alt/F1, I get the error message 'cannot open display "default display" '.
Running xrandr at this stage results in "Can't open display" -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1019772 Title: login failed passw latin char keyboard ru Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Ubuntu 12.04 My password is in latin characters (sv). I have set up 3 different keyboards, sv, en and ru. This has worked for some time. Now only ru is present at login and cannot be changed. Latin character password using cyrillic character keyboard does not work! The problem is similar to bug #997140. Workaround (partly): ctr/alt/F1 login works. Running login or reboot -fv in terminal mode starts with shutdown(!) Can I change keyboard to sv in terminal mode? Package: lightdm? Expected: login Happened instead: wrong password To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1019772/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
